Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Birmingham, AL for the 26/27 school year. This is a full-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Responsibilities include monitoring the student, managing chronic conditions, and administering medications, with clinical support from experienced nurses. Competitive W-2 package and dedicated RN support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Alabama required.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience with pediatric care and seizure management expected.
• Ability to implement physician orders within LPN scope of practice.
• School-based nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the student during the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with procedures per care plans.
• Provide first aid and medication administration.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities as assigned.
• Report status changes to supervising RN and family.
