Job summary

Family of Kidz in Putnam County, NY is seeking a 1:1 Student Aide for Preschool (Behavior Technician). This part-time, fee-for-service role runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 2:00pm in a public daycare setting, supporting a student with special needs under teacher and therapist guidance.

You will implement IEPs, provide academic and behavioral support, assist with daily living tasks, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom while communicating progress with families.

Responsibilities

• Assist a student with academic, behavioral, and personal support.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement IEPs and promote classroom success.
• Provide direct support in academic and social activities.
• Assist with classroom tasks and adapt materials as needed.
• Monitor and support behavioral goals using positive reinforcement.
• Help with daily living tasks and transitions.
• Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
• Communicate progress regularly with teachers, therapists, and parents.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
