Job summary

Family of Kidz is hiring a 1:1 Student Aide - Preschool to support a student with special needs in a public daycare setting in Putnam County, NY. The role is part-time (fee-for-service) with hours Monday–Friday 8:30am–2pm and compensation of $19–$20 per hour.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, providing academic and social support, and close collaboration with teachers and therapists to ensure the student’s success in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Assists a student with special needs by providing academic, behavioral, and personal support.
• Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement IEPs and ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
• Provide direct support to the assigned student in academic and social activities.
• Assist with classroom assignments, adapting materials as needed.
• Monitor and support behavioral goals, using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
• Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
• Communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and parents about progress.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
