Job summary

The Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL) is seeking a Full-time LASSO 1 Paraprofessional at Olive Martin in Lake Villa, IL. You will support teachers in delivering instruction and daily routines for students with special needs.

As a 1:1 paraprofessional in our LASSO 1 program, you will assist with data collection, classroom organization, and behavior management under the guidance of the teacher. The role includes duties like preparing materials and promoting student independence.

Qualifications

Language and Social Skills Opportunities Program (LASSO 1)

The Language and Social Skills Opportunities program is a SEDOL program that has been designed for those students in 4th-8th grades who exhibit characteristics of high functioning Autism (formerly Asperger's Syndrome) and have the potential to benefit from exposure to mainstream curriculum concepts and methods.

Description:

Special Education Paraprofessionals support teachers in carrying out assignments with special education students as part of the daily routine. We have an openings for a 1:1 paraprofessional in our Lasso I program located at Olive Martin in Lake Villa, IL. The paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher with instructional and emotional growth.

A Day in the Life of a LASSO 1 Paraprofessional:

• Data Collection
• Bathroom Support (including but not limited to: diapering, potty training, etc)
• Implement curricular tools and behavior management strategies under the guidance of the teacher and/or related service providers
• Promote Student Independence
• Prepare classroom materials and support overall classroom organization, structure and cleanliness

Job Type:

Full-time, 2026-2027 School Year

Salary and Benefits
