Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1-1 Paraprofessional in the Special Education department. This full-time position involves providing support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and social goals in a safe and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, students, and families to facilitate a positive learning experience and promote independence among students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers .
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during instructional activities, ensuring they understand the material and remain engaged.
• Help students with daily living skills, including personal care, organization, and social interactions.
• Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, reporting any concerns to the supervising teacher or special education staff.
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their self-esteem and independence.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Requirements

• You will need your para license and be registered with the region before you receive a hire date.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in a special education setting, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
• Certification as a paraprofessional
