Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is hiring a Paraeducator to work 1:1 with a student in the Employment and Transition Program (ETP). The role supports employment personal management and recreation/leisure skills for young adults with developmental disabilities, under supervision of a certificated teacher or specialist.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional credentials either AA degree, 48 semester credits, 72 quarter credits, or passing ParaPro assessment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• And one of the following: AA degree, OR 48 College-Level Semester Credits, OR 72 College-Level Quarter Credits, OR Pass the state approved ParaPro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals or small groups, supervise groups for periods of time.
• Perform clerical tasks.
• Perform health-related procedures, as needed, which may include hygiene and diapering issues, and administer special programs and tests, only when properly trained.
• Travel with students using local transit options or District vehicles.
• Work under supervision of a certificated teacher and follow directions given.
