Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Paraeducator must meet one of the following: ParaPro score OR associate degree OR 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits.
• CPR/First Aid Certificate required.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
• ProACT de-escalation and restraint training.
• Paraeducator Certificate Program.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under teacher direction to support objectives.
• Assist students, teachers, and certificated staff with instruction and IEPs.
• Attend meetings and trainings (first aid, CPR, de-escalation) to convey information.
• Develop instructional activities under supervision for various student needs.
• Implement behavioral plans designed by IEP team.
