Job summary

San Juan Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant II to support 1:1 and small group instruction for students with mild/moderate needs at Whitney Avenue School. This is a permanent, part-time role with a 6-hour workday (7:45 AM–2:15 PM), 206 days/year (calendar 18A).

The position pays $19.51–$24.47 per hour with a 5% Hard to Staff Stipend. Applicants should have experience in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs and may need to obtain a CA Class C

Qualifications

• Experience as Instructional Assistant II with mild/moderate needs.
• Ability to run small groups and assist in large group settings.
• Willingness to obtain a California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Run small groups for students with mild/moderate needs.
• Assist students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings.
• Support the teacher’s needs and classroom management.
