Job summary

Thrive Education Partners seeks an experienced educator to provide personalized, in-person tutoring to a middle-school student in North Austin, Texas. The role focuses on math and executive functioning while supporting ELA, science, and social studies as needed.

Sessions are twice weekly for one hour, in the 4:30–6:30 PM window, Monday–Thursday, with a commitment to clear structure and accountability. You will work 1:1 with a bright student, helping her build organization skills, study habits,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Classroom teaching experience and/or significant 1:1 tutoring experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with middle-school students.
• Experience teaching or tutoring middle-school math.
• Experience providing executive functioning, study skills, or organizational support.
• Comfort providing academic support across ELA, science, and social studies in addition to math.
• Active teaching license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, individualized academic support across math, ELA, science, and social studies based on the student’s needs.
• Provide deeper support in middle-school math, reinforcing concepts and addressing gaps.
• Support homework, studying, test preparation, and day-to-day coursework.
• Teach practical executive functioning strategies for organization, planning, time management, and study skills.
• Help the student prioritize tasks and build independent study habits.
• Build routines and systems to foster independence and accountability.
• Communicate with the family about progress and priorities.
