Job summary

Green Chimneys in New York seeks a part-time 1:1 Aide in a Special Education School to provide structured learning experiences for a assigned student. The role involves tutoring, coordinating with teachers on subjects, materials and schedules, and supporting special projects and reports.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma with preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. The position is 35 hours per week, follows the school schedule, and offers benefits including medical, vision

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with impulsive, aggressive students who require a structured, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide a structured learning experience and atmosphere.
• Tutoring and arranging subjects, materials and schedules with classroom teachers for the assigned child
• Assist classroom teachers with special projects and lessons relative to the assigned child as needed
• Assist in securing classroom supplies
• Write anecdotal, incident, tutoring and other reports as necessary.
• Perform other duties as may be worked out with the classroom teachers and School Principal/Assistant Principal, and tending to program aide responsibilities as assigned.
