Job summary

Green Chimneys in Massachusetts is seeking a 1:1 Special Education Student Aide to partner with a classroom teacher, providing a structured, nurturing environment for a student needing individualized attention. You will support lessons, manage materials, and help the student navigate daily schedules with patience and care.

This 12-month role follows the school calendar, offers a 35-hour work week with paid time off, and includes a full 8-day paid training program to ensure you feel confident in

Qualifications

• Experience working with students who exhibit impulsive or aggressive behaviors.
• Ability to maintain boundaries while providing high level emotional and academic support.
• Patience and nurturing demeanor in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support with assigned student, assisting with lessons and schedules.
• Assist with daily lessons and securing classroom supplies.
• Maintain documentation including anecdotal notes, incident reports, and tutoring updates.
• Collaborate with teacher, Principal, and Assistant Principal to maintain a safe, positive classroom environment.
