Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a front-end loader operator at our Elkton, KY location to move, stockpile, and load aggregate materials. You will also load vehicles, perform daily equipment inspections, and maintain a clean, safe yard to support production and shipping.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate front-end loaders safely and efficiently to move, stockpile, and load aggregate materials.


• Load customer and company vehicles accurately while maintaining product quality standards.


• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.


• Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard, stockpile, and loadout areas.


• Support plant production and shipping activities to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

What Are We Looking For

• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy mobile equipment in a quarry, mining, construction, industrial, or similar environment.


• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established procedures and regulations.


• Ability to perform equipment inspections, identify operational concerns, and communicate issues effectively.


• Dependable, self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail and situational awareness.


• Ability to work productively in a fast-paced outdoor environment while adapting to changing operational needs.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.


• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
