Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a front-end loader operator to load haul trucks, feed plant operations, and move sand, gravel, and materials at our Arkansas site.

Responsibilities include pre-shift inspections, maintaining stockpiles, and monitoring production while minimizing spillage. You will follow all safety procedures and site practices in a loud, outdoor work environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Safely operate a front-end loader to load haul trucks, feed plant operations, and move sand, gravel, and other materials throughout the site.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and promptly identify and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain stockpiles, haul roads, pit areas, and work zones to support safe and efficient plant operations.
• Monitor material quality and production needs while minimizing contamination, spillage, and material loss.
• Follow all safety procedures, traffic patterns, equipment separation requirements, and site-specific operating practices.

What Are We Looking For

• Ability to safely and effectively operate heavy mobile equipment, particularly front-end loaders.
• Strong safety awareness with the ability to recognize hazards and follow established safety procedures.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and identify basic mechanical or maintenance concerns.
• Dependable team player with effective communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely in an active sand and gravel operation while adapting to changing production priorities and site conditions.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer background check., pre-employment physical examination, and drug screen.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

Physical Demands of the Job

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a front-end loader and other mobile equipment.
• Ability to frequently climb on and off equipment using steps, ladders, and handholds while maintaining three points of contact.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull as needed to inspect equipment and perform job duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed to perform routine operational and equipment-related tasks.
• Ability to safely perform work requiring sufficient vision, hearing, coordination, and mobility to operate equipment and remain aware of vehicles, pedestrians, changing terrain, and other hazards in an active sand and gravel operation.
