Job Title: Assistant Manager

Essential Functions

Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing, and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Develop strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers support the Store Manager in all outlined areas and are responsible for all primary duties when the Store Manager is not present.

Primary Duties

  • 30% Brand: Provides supervision and supports the direction and planning of associates' daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty. Ensures brand standards are met, such as merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Acts as the main contact to resolve customer issues and analyzes store trends to anticipate customer demands.
  • 30% People: Engages, trains, and develops teams to achieve positive results. Recruits actively to build a strong network of external candidates. Identifies strengths and opportunities for associates and addresses them through coaching or counseling. Maintains positive relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed. Builds relationships with Store Manager peers and fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • 30% Operations: Ensures execution of company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Supports digital strategies like Omni-channel fulfillment. Manages inventory, payroll hours, store opening and closing procedures, and follows company directives and projects.
  • 10% Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensures a safe environment for staff and customers, enforces policies, and protects assets through inventory and cash control procedures. Uses reporting tools and ensures compliance with HAZMAT training.

Knowledge, Skills/Abilities And Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Preferred 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience
  • Preferred 1+ year management experience
  • Ability to lead/support a team to meet objectives
  • Effective communication skills
  • Scheduling availability
  • Cosmetology license desirable but not required
