Job summary

Advanced Atomization Technologies is seeking a qualified NDT technician to certify at level-2 in fluorescent penetrant inspection and digital radiography, with recertification every 5 years. You will read detailed instructions, operate inspection equipment, and evaluate hundreds of parts daily for welds, braze, and casting defects to uphold near-perfect quality.

The role requires completing high school, strong computer skills, and occasional travel (up to 3 weeks/year).

Qualifications

• Must complete High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand detailed work instructions, procedures, and drawings.
• Strong computer skills: create spreadsheets and documents, develop formulas in Excel, data entry in software suites, proficient in Windows.
• Basic math and algebra skills; verification upon test.
• General science comprehension required; eye test must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Certify to level-2 in FPI and DR within 2 years of NDT start date.
• Pass three certification tests (Level 2 – FPI, Level 1 & 2 – DR).
• Recertify Level-2 every 5 years.
• Read and comply with NDT procedures and task methods.
• Operate equipment, perform system checks and maintenance as needed.
• Read AA TECH prints/process drawings; develop techniques for AA TECH products.
• Inspect hundreds of parts daily for defects while maintaining quality.
• Travel up to 5% of the time (up to 3 weeks per year).

Position Summary

The employee is responsible for becoming certified in present and future approved methods within the NDT department and maintain these certifications throughout the course of employment. Also, capably perform a variety of inspections to procedures and other governances associated with the task assigned.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Certify to level-2 in both Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI) and Digital Radiography (DR) within 2-years of NDT start date.
• 3 certification tests are required to achieve this goal. (Level 2 – FPI, Level-1 & 2 – DR)
• Level-2 recertification’s must be completed every 5-years.
• Understand and comply with all levels of procedures associated with NDT and the task/method assigned.
• Operate all required equipment, perform systems checks, and routine maintenance as needed.
• Adept at reading prints/process drawings associated with AA TECH product
• Develop techniques for future AA TECH product, improve processes which enhance inspection results or help reduce ergonomic concerns.
• Examine hundreds of parts daily for weld and braze flaws, incorrect assemblies, forging and casting defects, rework evaluations, etc. while striving for a near-perfect quality record.

• Successfully complete eye test
• Must meet and maintain all requirements within Q09-02-4001 and NAS-410 for present and future certifications in methods within NDT.
• Must be able to travel 5% of the time (up to 3 weeks per year) either with team members or individually.

Key Competencies Include

• Maintain work areas and equipment in an organized, clean, and foreign object damage (FOD) – free manner.
• Capable of performing under pressure. This includes performance audits completed internally and by external agencies (i.e. NADCAP), meeting production requirements without sacrificing inspection quality or other responsibilities and accepting and working within continual industry and departmental changes which impact processes performed.
• Work closely with supervision, engineering staff, or other team members to ensure both quality of inspection and production demands are met.
