Job summary

Greenville Technical College is seeking an Instructor for MACHINE TOOL TECHNOLOGY to support the MTT department on the CMI Campus. You will develop and teach Machine Tool and CNC curricula and supervise student labs to ensure hands-on learning.

The position requires an associate or bachelor\'s degree in mechanical technology, plus several years of experience. Teaching experience and CAM/CNC proficiency are preferred.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


In this challenging role, you will be supporting the MTT-Machine Tool Tech department at Greenville Technical College.


The employee works under the general supervision of the MTTAcademic Program Director and will follow the policies and regulations setforth by the College as described in the policy and procedures manual.He/she will be expected to work as a professional independent of close supervisionbut will have easy access to their supervisor and other specialists forassistance.


Duties may include any or all of the following:



  • Developand teachMachine Tooland CNC curricula courses

  • Demonstratelab techniques involved and assist students in the performance ofcurriculum-based student labs

  • Provideand apply safe work habits, practices, and rules in all MTT/CNC lab areas

  • Assistin curriculum development and revision

  • Prepareand present material at a pace that will foster student understanding andwill, at the same time, permit coverage of vital concepts

  • Participatein recruitment of students, and academically advise students

  • Maintaincompetence through continuous professional development

  • Meetdeadlines for record keeping and maintain scheduled office hours

  • Followguidelines outlined in the part-time faculty manual

  • Performother tasks independently as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


An associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical technology, vocational technical education, industrial technology, or a related field and three (3 to 5) years' experience in the field of study or an associate degree in machine tool technology, demonstrated competencies in machine tool technology and five (5) years or experience in the field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/engineering technology, Technology Education, or a related field and a minimum of three years of recent, full-time related occupational experience

  • Multi-axis experience and fluency across current shop platforms, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, including live tooling, probing (e.g., Renishaw Inspection Plus), and Macro B.

  • CAM proficiency (Mastercam preferred) and CAD literacy.

  • Prior teaching, corporate-training, or apprenticeship-instruction experience at the post-secondary or industry level

  • Demonstrated proficiency in manual milling, turning and surface grinding; CNC milling and turning programming and operation, blueprint reading, GD&T, Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM)] and precision measurement.
