Job summary

Heidelberg Materials seeks an underground mining operator to support daily production in McCook, IL. You will safely operate mining equipment, perform inspections, and carry out drilling, blasting, scaling, hauling, and material handling tasks.

You''ll follow mine plans, adhere to procedures, and work with teammates to achieve production targets while maintaining a strong safety culture in dynamic conditions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Safely operate underground mining equipment and machinery to support daily production goals.
• Conduct inspections of work areas, equipment, and mine conditions to identify and address safety concerns.
• Perform drilling, blasting, scaling, hauling, and material handling activities as assigned.
• Follow mine plans, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain efficient operations.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
