System Administrator – Siemens, İstanbul, T34, TR
Full time on site position with Siemens Smart Infrastructure – Grid Software. The role is part of Siemens Grid Software Turkey, Engineering group, focusing on the development and execution of software solutions for energy automation smart grid products.
Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, installation, and configuration of complex IT infrastructures for Siemens Grid Software Solutions/Projects and corporate operational needs.
- Install, configure, maintain, and reliably operate external and internal systems, software, hardware, and networks; upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Diagnose hardware and software errors, document problems and solutions, prioritize issues, and assess impact.
- Design, monitor LAN/WAN systems and equipment (switch, firewall, router, NMS, etc.).
- Implement security services for corporate and customer networks; define, implement, and maintain an up‑to‑date security threat & technology landscape.
- Monitor and maintain software licensing and maintenance agreements.
- Maintain and administer versioning tools such as Git.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and migrate Oracle Database servers; monitor system health, performance, availability, and security.
- Prepare technical documents and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens security requirements for embedded, web, mobile, cloud & IoT environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical‑Electronics Engineering, or similar fields.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of complex IT systems and networks, software, hardware, and networking protocols.
- Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies such as RedHat KVM, OpenShift, VMware, or Proxmox.
- Experience designing, deploying, and implementing core routing, switching, firewall, and security, and datacenter networks per industry best practices.
- Experience with routing protocols and WAN technologies including MPLS, DMVPN.
- Experience with application and operating system hardening & cybersecurity.
- Experience with software licensing and agreements.
- Experience with version control tools like Git, Subversion.
- Linux/Unix shell scripting skills.
- Programming knowledge in Java, Python (optional).
- Oracle Database administration experience (optional).
- Excellent problem‑solving aptitude and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional working proficiency in English; German is a plus.
