Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure - Grid Software; SI GSW is seeking a System Administrator to manage the IT infrastructure for Grid Software projects. The role involves installation, configuration, security, and monitoring of enterprise systems across Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

The position is mid-level, permanent, and hybrid (remote/office) with no travel restrictions. Strong scripting and experience with virtualization and database administration are valued, along with English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering or similar fields
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
• System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, VMware, or other network related fields are a plus
• Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems in an enterprise environment
• Strong knowledge of complex IT systems, networks, software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Red Hat KVM, OpenShift, VMware, Proxmox)
• Experience in designing, deploying, and implementing core router/switch/firewall and data center networks
• Experience in routing protocols and WAN technologies including MPLS, DMVPN
• Experience in software licensing and versioning tools (Git, Subversion)
• Experience in Linux/UNIX shell scripting
• Knowledge in Java or Python is a plus
• Experience in Oracle Database Administration is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving aptitude and analytical skills
• Strong communication and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Professional working proficiency in English (German a plus)

Responsibilities

• Design, Implementation, Installation and Configuration of complex IT Infrastructures for Grid Software Solutions/Projects and corporate needs
• Install, configure, maintain and operate systems, software, hardware and networks; upgrade systems
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors; document problems and resolutions
• Design and monitor LAN/WAN systems and equipment (switches, firewalls, routers, NMS)

• Define and maintain an up-to-date security threat landscape
• Monitor and maintain software licensing and maintenance agreements
• Maintain and administer versioning tools like Git
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade and migrate Oracle Database servers; monitor health and performance
• Prepare technical documents and specifications

As being the integral part of Siemens Grid Software Turkey, Engineering group is mainly focused on Software Solution & Implementation of Grid Software segment product. To accomplish the mission of the group, the candidate will perform as a System Administrator for projects in Grid Software Area.

What are my responsibilities?

• Design, Implementation, Installation and Configuration of complex IT Infrastructures for Siemens Grid Software Solutions/Projects and corporate operational needs
• Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of external & internal systems, software, hardware and networks, upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
• Design, Monitoring of LAN/WAN systems & equipment's (switch, firewall, router, NMS etc.)
• Implement security services for corporate and customer networks
• Defining, implementing, and maintaining an up-to-date security threat & technology landscape
• Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements
• Maintaining & Administration of Versioning Tools like Git etc.
• Installation, configuration, patching, upgrade and migration of Oracle Database servers, including monitoring of system health and performance, availability and security
• Preparation of technical documents and specifications
• Understanding Siemens security requirements to drive adherence for Embedded, Web, Mobile, Cloud & IoT environments

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering or similar fields
