Job summary

RINA is seeking a Türkiye Machinery Plan Approval Engineer to join the Istanbul team within the South Europe Marine Division. This senior role focuses on reviewing and approving machinery plans for vessels, ensuring compliance with Class Rules and international standards, and guiding clients through the design and construction phases.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s in Naval Engineering, 3+ years of marine machinery experience, and fluency in Turkish and English.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in marine machinery systems design, installation and approval.
Experience reviewing and approving machinery plans for various vessels (commercial ships, tankers, offshore, passenger).
Proficiency in propulsion, auxiliary machinery, power generation, and safety-related machinery.
Fluent Turkish and proficient English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Review and approve machinery drawings for ships, offshore units, and marine equipment in compliance with rules and regulations.
Assist clients during design and construction, providing guidance on machinery and systems.
Support detailed marine engineering plan reviews per RINA rules and applicable conventions.
Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.
Visit sites to take measurements and provide day-to-day project support.
