Job summary

FICHTNER is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Thermal Power Projects (m/f/x) to lead complex energy ventures in Türkiye, including geothermal, biogas and biomass initiatives. The role emphasizes technical due diligence, tender design, and coordination across global teams from Istanbul and abroad.

You will drive project execution, manage budgets and timelines, and collaborate with clients, contractors and internal experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree with focus on energy or related field is required.
• Minimum 10+ years of project management experience in energy/heavy industry.
• Proven ability to lead technical due diligence, feasibility studies and specifications for power projects.

Responsibilities

• Define, coordinate and control work packages, budgets and schedules to ensure successful project execution.
• Coordinate with external and internal project partners and lead client/contractor meetings.
• Prepare due diligence & feasibility reports; review design documents; support site erection and commissioning.

Senior Project Manager for Thermal Power Projects (m/f/x)

Your Tasks

• Ensure successful project execution by defining, coordinating and controlling work packages, budgets and time lines
• Coordinating with external and internal project partners
• Preparation of due diligence and feasibility reports
• Lead technical clarification meetings and contract negotiations with clients and contractors
• Preparation of specifications for tenders Thermal Power Plant (including geothermal, biogas, biomass, conventional, green fuel): Design works, including preparation of flow charts, layouts, drawings
• Review of contractors’ design documents
• Support site erection and commissioning activities
• Perform site visits to observe project progress or evaluate the condition of power plants
• Monitor operational parameters of power plants
• Liaise with other technical specialists including specialists from Fichtner offices worldwide
• Support sales activities with technical inputs

Your Profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Environmental or Civil Engineering, preferably with focus on Energy discipline
• At least ten (10+) years of experience in the project management in the energy or heavy industry business sector, preferably with experience in thermal power plant projects, including geothermal, biogas and biomass power plants;
• Excellent understanding of project management processes, such as risk management, claim management;
• Ability to perform as leader of a team technical due diligence studies, feasibility studies and specifications of thermal power plants
• Having a project management certificate (PMP or equivalent) would be an asset
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent knowledge of English and Turkish; German or Arabic knowledge would be an asset
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel (within Turkey and abroad)
• Driving License: B (for Turkey)
• Work permit for Turkey
