Job summary

AppNation is seeking an IT Specialist to keep the team connected, equipped, and productive as we grow. You’ll resolve issues across macOS, Windows, and Linux, support onboarding/offboarding, and improve internal IT processes to ensure a smooth, secure working environment.

You’ll manage device enrollment with MDM tools, administer workplace apps, and collaborate with teams to optimize access, security, and efficiency. This role offers hybrid work options and relocation support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an IT Specialist to keep our team connected, equipped, and productive as AppNation grows. You’ll support the technology our people use every day, from laptops and workplace tools to office networks and secure access to company systems.

In this hands-on role, you’ll resolve technical issues across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments, support employee onboarding and offboarding, and improve our internal IT processes. You’ll work across teams to create a smooth, reliable, and secure working environment.

What You’ll Do

• Provide day-to-day IT support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, account access, and connectivity issues across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Set up and maintain all employee and office technology devices, including laptops, workstations, mobile devices, peripherals, printers, scanners, displays and meeting room equipment, keeping them updated, secure and ready to use.
• Administer our MDM tool, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, application deployment, updates and device security policies.
• Manage IT onboarding and offboarding, including device preparation, account provisioning, access changes, and equipment returns.
• Administer workplace applications and SaaS tools, managing user accounts, permissions, and licenses.
• Manage and troubleshoot office Wi-Fi, VPN access, network equipment, and internet connectivity; support meeting room and video conferencing systems and coordinate with service providers when needed.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and software licenses, coordinating purchasing, repairs, warranties, and replacements.
• Apply IT security practices, including multi-factor authentication, disk encryption, endpoint protection, and timely access removal.
• Document common issues and solutions, maintain setup guides, and help employees use company tools effectively.
• Identify recurring issues and improve IT workflows through standardization and automation.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in IT support, IT operations, or a similar role.
• Experience setting up, supporting, and troubleshooting macOS, Windows, and Linux devices, mobile devices, as well as shared office equipment such as printers, scanners, and meeting room systems.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration, including package management, user accounts and permissions, services, system logs, and command‑line troubleshooting.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar workplace platforms.
• Familiarity with employee onboarding and offboarding, user account administration, and access permissions.
• Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting office networks and VPNs, with a solid understanding of Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall rules.
• Hands‑on experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools such as Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, or Microsoft Intune.
• Familiarity with device management and endpoint security practices, including software updates, encryption, and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to prioritize requests and follow issues through to resolution.
• Clear communication skills, patience, and a helpful approach to supporting colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge.
• A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of everyday IT operations.
• Ability to read technical documentation and communicate with vendors in English.

• Familiarity with Apple Business Manager and automated device enrollment.
• Experience with single sign‑on (SSO) and identity platforms such as Okta, JumpCloud, or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate repetitive tasks.
• Experience supporting a technology company or a growing hybrid team.
