Job summary

SiFly Aviation seeks a senior Embedded Linux Engineer to span the platform—bridging OS and product through services, telemetry, and tooling. You will own tasks from prototype to production, collaborating with drone-management and configuration teams, BSP and firmware engineers, and hardware teams in Santa Clara.

You will build containerized or systemd-managed services on a Yocto-based image, debug across subsystems, and help accelerate prototypes toward shipped features for the fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in embedded Linux development across multiple problem domains.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Broad, self-directed track record shipping across Linux subsystems without waiting for a detailed spec.
• Strong C, C++, and Python for building resource-efficient services inside a Yocto-based image.
• Prototype-to-production mindset with tests, packaging, and documentation.
• Readable device trees, kernel logs, and debugging on real hardware; comfortable with multi-layer troubleshooting.
• Advanced English communication within distributed teams in Turkey and Santa Clara.

Responsibilities

• Turn prototypes into shipped, documented platform features for the fleet.
• Build and maintain platform services: telemetry, logging, health, diagnostics, and tests.
• Package and integrate services into the Yocto-based image as containerized or systemd-managed units.
• Own unassigned projects from scoping to delivery, then hand over with tests and docs.
• Support BSP, release, and connectivity work as needed to keep the platform moving.
