Description of Role

Reporting to Data Science Divison Head, this role works on machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques on our big data platform using Python, SQL, PyTorch, or your open source tool of choice, to harness volumes of online/offline data at scale to tackle diverse search and NLP challenges across Hepsiburada Group's businesses and products.

• Analyze data generated within the Hepsiburada search ecosystem, both structured and unstructured, to discover insights and foresight that will fuel growth strategies in commercial search operations or product development.
• Work with various business units to understand business objectives, data requirements and translate them into predictive search models and analytical solutions
• Conduct statistical analysis and programming using python and SQL
• Measure the results continuously and improve the algorithms
• Design and run randomized controlled experiments, analyze the results
• Communicate with relevant teams regarding project progress, risks & issues, and mitigation alternatives
• Follow trends in technology and data science to maintain proficiency
• Be the driver for bringing a data-driven mindset, using quantitative approaches at all times, and automating of everything to the heart of Hepsiburada

Our Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning or other quantitative fields
• Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field would be a plus
• Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Proven track record in building search and ranking applications in production.
• Proven experience in SQL and Python
• Clear understanding of machine learning methods
• Having a growth mindset
• Hands‑on experience in building algorithms and scale it across businesses
• Experience with git and version control workflows
• Experience to create data pipelines using a tool such as Airflow

• Proficiency in cloud technologies
• Agile methodology knowledge
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes in the context of machine learning (MLOps)
