Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and optimize scalable data pipelines, working with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and engineering teams to deliver reliable data products for analytics and AI use cases.

Responsibilities include designing ingestion/ transformation pipelines, building data models, and ensuring data quality across Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms within a hybrid Istanbul environment. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to production readiness.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering focusing on data integration and analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience with Spark / PySpark or similar tools is a plus.
• Proven experience designing and implementing data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with data orchestration, scheduling, dependency management, and failure/reprocessing strategies.
• Experience with relational databases and large-scale data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads or AI-powered apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions using Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark.
• Build and optimize batch and near-real-time data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Design scalable data models and curated datasets for analytics and AI use cases.
• Work with cloud platforms and lakehouse architectures including Databricks and Snowflake.
• Implement data transformation and processing patterns.
• Develop and maintain data quality, validation, monitoring, and error handling.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Data Architects and Product Owners to translate requirements into production-ready implementations.
• Own the reliability and operational performance of production data pipelines, including monitoring and incident resolution.
• Conduct code and design reviews and ensure engineering best practices.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level Data Engineers.
