Job summary

Adecco Portugal is partnering with an international manufacturing client to recruit a Senior Cost Accounting Executive/Manager. You will monitor costs, lead cost-improvement projects, and develop systems to track cost flows across production, inventory, procurement, and accounting.

You will drive month-end closings, deliver cost analyses for budgeting, and present findings to senior leadership. Travel may be required; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6–7 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems SAP and/or Logo.
• Power BI and data analytics experience preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Good command of English, written and spoken; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and control production costs; identify variances and drive corrective actions.

We are currently partnering with an international manufacturing company specializing in plastic piping systems and infrastructure solutions. On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Executive / Manager to join their finance team.

Job Description

• Monitor, analyze, and control production costs, identifying variances against budgets, forecasts, and historical data, and driving corrective actions to improve cost performance.
• Lead cost improvement and operational efficiency projects across manufacturing operations.
• Develop and enhance the infrastructure required to systematically monitor, control, and report cost flows across production, inventory, procurement, and accounting processes.
• Manage, improve, and optimize cost accounting structures within the existing ERP environment and support ERP transformation initiatives from a costing perspective.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end cost closing activities and drive continuous process improvements through effective coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare cost-related forecasts and analyses to support budgeting and planning cycles.
• Develop and present cost reports, analyses, and management presentations to senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
• Support strategic business decisions through detailed financial and cost performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and/or Logo.
• Preferably experienced in Power BI and data analytics.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Strong reporting, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to drive initiatives independently.
