Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to act as the principal technical advisor to AWS Enterprise Support and Unified Operations customers. You will craft adoption strategies for AWS services, guide discussions with senior leadership on incidents, trade-offs, and risk management, and help clients build scalable cloud solutions.

You will travel as needed, collaborate with Solutions Architects, Business Developers, and Sales, and deliver proactive guidance to optimize technology

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications experience.
• 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Experience in a similar role as a Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer, Cloud Architect etc.
• Understand operational parameters and troubleshooting for four (4) of the listed areas: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data & Analytics, Security, Architecture, Applications Development.
• External customer-facing experience with the ability to articulate to small and large audiences.
• Ability to juggle tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• You’ll advise on solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customer.
• Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity.
• Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
• Using your technical acumen and customer obsession, drive discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.
• Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers.
• Proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
• Provide detailed reviews of service events, monthly & quarterly metrics, and pre-launch planning.
• Solve a variety of problems as customers migrate workloads to the cloud.
