Job summary

Nakitera is recruiting for a backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable JVM-based services in the fintech space. You will work on payment system integrations and AI-powered development workflows, contributing to secure, reliable backend platforms.

The role requires 5+ years of Java/Spring Boot experience, strong OOP and design principles, and familiarity with messaging systems. Experience in fintech is a plus. This is an on-site position in Turkey’s Marmara region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of OOP and design principles (SOLID, Clean Code, pragmatic design patterns).
• 5+ years of backend experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered software development processes and SDD.
• RESTful API design and development experience.
• Familiarity with SOAP and XML technologies.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience in payments/fintech domain is a strong plus.
• Experience with Unit Test Frameworks.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services.
• Develop and enhance robust backend systems and APIs.
• Build and manage integrations related to payment systems and financial services.
• Apply clean code and design principles to ensure high code quality.
• Maintain and optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve system stability.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
