Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Turkey seeks a Senior AI Engineer specializing in semantic web technologies. You will translate business concepts into ontologies and knowledge graphs, build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines, and implement semantic layers aligned with RAG and agentic AI solutions.

You will collaborate with DataGovernance, Enterprise Architecture and AI teams to ensure data quality, governance and semantic consistency across enterprise data assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or semantic technologies.
• Expertise in RDF/OWL/SPARQL, SKOS, SHACL, ontology development and knowledge graphs.
• Experience building enterprise-scale ELT/ETL pipelines and data integration.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or AWS).
• Advanced Python and SQL coding with graph querying and reasoning.
• Understanding RAG architectures, vector databases and LLM integrations.
• Knowledge of metadata management, data quality, lineage and governance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; English at least B2.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshops to define entities, relationships, attributes and synonyms.
• Develop and maintain ontologies, taxonomies and semantic models.
• Design scalable ELT/ETL workflows and graph loading processes.
• Implement semantic layers and metadata repositories to support RAG and Knowledge Graphs.
• Establish ontology governance and semantic versioning; manage business glossary.
• Collaborate with Architects, Stewards and AI engineers to ensure data quality and discoverability.
