Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior regional controller to own the close, consolidate group reporting, and drive IFRS adherence across META region. You will lead a distributed accounting team, coordinate with shared services, and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.

The role requires 10+ years in multinational accounting, strong SAP and Excel skills, and fluency in English. Familiarity with local regimes and Big 4 background is a plus.

Qualifications

Recognized professional accounting qualification — CPA, ACA/ACCA, CA(SA), SMMM or equivalent.
Bachelor's / master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience in a multinational environment across multiple legal entities.
Deep, applied IFRS knowledge and judgement on complex treatments.
Experience with emerging/high-volatility markets, currency devaluation, and local statutory regimes.

Responsibilities

Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Review financial statements for IFRS compliance and policy alignment.
Coordinate with Accounting Operations, Global Hub, SSCs and outsourced providers.
Advise on accounting consequences of transactions and entity changes.
Manage internal controls framework and coordinate internal/ external audits.
Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Job description

Own the integrity of the financial record across every operating reporting unit and legal entity in the META region
Act as the regional point of contact for Record-to-Report
Coordinate across Accounting Operations, the Global Hub, shared service centres and outsourced providers
Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, including trial balance review, pre-MEC and MEC topics, and Financial Reporting Review
Deliver accurate, timely and complete data for group consolidation
Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policy
Hold the region to reporting deadlines
Monitor Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and ensure aged or unsupported items are documented, challenged and cleared
Determine accounting treatment for complex, judgemental and non-routine transactions
Manage the statutory-to-IFRS bridge, including local GAAP books, statutory audits, tax audits, and local e-invoicing and reporting regimes
Advise the business on accounting consequences of proposed transactions, entity changes and commercial structures
Identify financial-process risks and drive remediation with stakeholders inside and outside Finance
Own the region's internal control framework (ICS)
Coordinate Finance and internal audits and close findings on time
Ensure balance sheet exposures are correctly stated, including FX translation, currency-restricted cash, accounts receivable provisioning and inventory valuation
Drive resolution of upstream issues across Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, Commercial and other functions
Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of accounting processes, reducing manual intervention and close cycle time
Coordinate, develop and hold accountable a distributed accounting team
Manage team KPIs and build technical capability across markets

Requirements

A recognized professional accounting qualification — CPA, ACA/ACCA, CA(SA), SMMM or equivalent
Bachelor's / master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience in a multinational environment, including responsibility across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
Deep, applied IFRS knowledge and demonstrated judgement on complex and contested treatments
Practical experience in emerging or high-volatility markets, including currency devaluation, restricted repatriation, and local statutory regimes diverging from group reporting
Strong internal controls background and experience managing external and internal audit
Experience coordinating remote or distributed teams and operating through shared service centres or outsourced accounting operations
SAP proficiency and advanced Excel
Fluent written and spoken English
Arabic or Turkish knowledge is a strong asset
Hands-on and solution driven; able to work in detail when required
Comfortable holding a position with senior stakeholders when accounting requires it
Able to translate technical accounting into consequences the business understands and acts on
Big 4 audit background preferred
Hands-on experience with IAS 29 hyperinflationary reporting preferred
Healthcare, medtech or another regulated industry experience preferred
Experience with distributor and indirect channel revenue models preferred
