Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to ensure confectionery products comply with Turkish food legislation and group policies. The role will support product development, labeling, and external affairs, and may involve EU regulatory requirements.

The candidate will work with regulatory authorities and internal teams to review claims, artwork, and promotional materials, ensuring accurate nutrition information and ingredient lists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish and EU food legislation, particularly labelling, ingredients, additives, nutrition and health claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess food legislation and standards and evaluate impact on the business.
• Communicate regulatory updates and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Provide regulatory support to Marketing by reviewing concepts, claims, artwork, advertising and promotions.
• Support R&D on recipe compliance, ingredients, additives, materials and nutrition information.
• Prepare ingredient lists and nutrition information, review labels, and provide final regulatory approval.
• Collaborate with Group Regulatory and cross-functional teams on compliance projects.
• Participate in industry association activities and interactions with regulatory authorities.

About the Job

Perfetti Van Melle, one of the largest multinational companies in the confectionary market, owner of leading local and global brands like Vivident, Mentos, Chupa Chups or Big Babol would like to employRegulatory Affairs Specialist. Regulatory Affairs Specialist will work on Regulatory Affairs team and will be reporting to Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Purpose of the Role

Ensure that the Company's confectionery products (chewing gum, candies also in the form of food supplements) comply with applicable Turkish food legislation, technical standards, and Group’s policies by providing regulatory support throughout product development, labelling, advertising, legislation monitoring, and external affairs.

The role may also be responsible for supporting compliance of Perfetti Van Melle’s products with EU and non-EU regulatory requirements providing advice to projects and preparing ingredients list and checking labels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish and EU food legislation, particularly in the areas of labelling, ingredients, additives, and nutrition and health claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Turkish and English.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong self-organization skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and relevant industry associations.

• Collaborate with Group Regulatory and cross-functional teams on product compliance and regulatory projects.
• Participate in industry association activities and support interactions with regulatory authorities when required.
• Contribute to manage other regulatory topics such as sustainability and promotional activities.
