Job summary

DFDS seeks a Regional Finance Director to lead financial controlling, credit management and local accounting across the region. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, regional reporting and ensure strong governance with IFRS compliance.

You will manage multi-country finance teams, drive process improvements, and partner with global and local finance groups to support sound business decisions. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, accounting, or related field.
• 10+ years in finance, controlling, accounting or related field.
• Proven leadership in multinational/regional finance.
• Strong experience in controlling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and audit.
• Solid knowledge of accounting, statutory reporting, credit management and working capital.
• Experience leading finance teams across countries/regions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and stakeholder skills.
• Able to collaborate with global and local finance teams.
• Fluent English.
• Experience with finance transformation, digitalization and automation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional financial controlling, credit management and local accounting across the region.

• Drive standardization and automation of finance processes regionally.

• Build and develop regional finance teams.

Job description

DFDS is looking for a Regional Finance Director to lead the financial controlling, credit management and local accounting functions across the assigned region.

As a Regional Finance Director at DFDS, you will be responsible for overseeing regional reporting, budgeting and forecasting, credit risk and local accounting operations. You will be reporting and work closely with the global finance organization and local country finance teams to ensure strong financial governance, consistent processes and effective financial management across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the financial controlling, credit management and local accounting functions across the region.
• Monitor and analyze regional financial performance, including revenue, costs.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with group IFRS standards and requirements.
• Identify financial risks, control gaps and opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial performance.
• Oversee credit management, customer credit exposure, overdue receivables, bad debt risks, and cash collection performance.
• Monitor key indicators such as DSO and drive actions to improve working capital performance.
• Oversee local accounting, statutory reporting tax and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Ensure alignment between local accounting practices and group requirements.
• Lead the standardization, digitalization, automation and continuous improvement of finance processes across the region.
• Ensure effective implementation of global finance initiatives across local teams.
• Lead, develop and build strong finance teams, ensuring the right capabilities, resources and organizational structure are in place.
• Work closely with senior management and finance stakeholders to provide financial insights and support sound business decisions.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in finance, controlling, accounting, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience, preferably in a multinational or regional finance organization.
• Strong experience in financial controlling, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting and audit
• Solid knowledge of accounting, statutory reporting, credit management and working capital processes.
• Experience managing finance teams across multiple countries or within a regional structure is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both global and local finance teams.
• Fluent English.
• Experience in Finance transformation, digitalization, automation and process improvement is an advantage.
