Job summary

ICterra Information and Communication Technologies in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, seeks a Software Quality Assurance engineer focusing on manual testing of backend services and APIs. You will design, prepare, execute, and maintain test scenarios, and validate business processes through API integrations and database verification.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA engineers to ensure product quality, support release validation, and contribute to ongoing improvement of automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on Manual Testing.
• Strong knowledge of backend testing methodologies and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Hands-on experience in RESTful and SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
• Experience in validating API responses, business logic, database consistency, and service integrations.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts (Oracle, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience in writing and executing comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience with defect management and test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, TestRail, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts and experience with at least one automation framework (Karate, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Capybara, etc.) is a plus.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Ruby, Python, or similar languages is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps or GitLab is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-oriented mindset.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, execute, and maintain manual test scenarios and test cases for backend services and APIs.
• Validate business processes through backend service testing, API integrations, and database verification.
• Analyze functional requirements and identify test coverage for new features and enhancements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other QA engineers to ensure product quality.
• Support release validation activities and production verification when required.
• Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the maintenance and gradual improvement of existing automation frameworks where applicable.
• Ensure quality standards and testing best practices are consistently followed across projects.
