Job summary

ICterra Information and Communication Technologies seeks a QA Analyst/Business Analyst to join our Istanbul team. You will analyze business needs, translate requirements into testable specs, and collaborate with developers, product owners, and project managers across global projects.

You will design test scenarios for backend services, APIs, and data flows, perform API testing with Postman/SoapUI, and support release validation and production troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, MIS, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis, software testing, QA, or similar roles.
• Experience converting business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and requirement management processes.
• Strong experience in manual testing for backend systems, services, and API integrations.
• Hands-on RESTful and SOAP API testing using Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar tools.
• SQL knowledge and experience with Oracle, MongoDB, or similar databases.
• Experience preparing BRDs, analysis docs, process flows, use cases, and test cases.
• Ability to perform impact analysis for new developments and changes.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, Confluence, or TestRail.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to understand system integrations, data flows, and backend services.
• Basic automation concepts and familiarity with Karate, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, or similar tools.
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge in Java, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs, functional requirements, and system change requests with business and technical teams.
• Gather, clarify, document, and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare functional analysis documents, process diagrams, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data mappings.
• Identify affected systems, services, integrations, and processes via impact analysis.
• Translate business requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
• Design, prepare, execute, and maintain test scenarios for backend services, APIs, and processes.
• Validate rules and end-to-end processes via API testing and data verification.
• Verify API requests, responses, error codes, data structures, and integration results with Postman/SoapUI.
• Support various testing activities: functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, smoke, UAT.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps, risks, and improvements during analysis/testing.
• Document and track defects with clear repro steps and evidence.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, architects, and QA engineers.
• Support UAT and issue resolution with business users.
• Participate in release validation, deployment verification, and production smoke testing as needed.
• Assist root cause analysis for production issues and recurring defects.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, development items, tests, and defects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis, testing, and QA processes.
• Contribute to maintenance/improvement of test automation frameworks where applicable.
• Ensure adherence to analysis standards and QA best practices across projects.
