Job summary

Saipem Offshore is seeking a Punch List Specialist to manage, track, and coordinate the closure of punch list items in a fast-paced offshore environment. You will bridge Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning, and Handover, ensuring all disciplines meet quality and safety benchmarks before start-up.

Responsibilities include workflow and risk categorization, cross-functional coordination with Saipem teams and Client representatives, and database updates in ICAPS for progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Punch List Coordination, Commissioning Support, or QA/QC on offshore projects.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning, and Handover procedures.
• English language proficiency is mandatory.

Role Overview

The Punch List Specialist is responsible for managing, tracking, and coordinating the closure of all punch list items (incomplete works, defects, or non-conformities). Operating in a fast-paced offshore environment, this role bridges the gap between Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning, and Handover, ensuring that all disciplines meet Saipem's and the Client's quality and safety benchmarks before final plant start-up.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Workflow Management: Oversee the collection, documentation, and tracking of all punch items identified during multi-disciplinary field walkdowns.
• Risk Categorization: Classify punch items strictly according to oil & gas standards and project specifications:
  • Category A (Critical): Must be cleared prior to Mechanical Completion / Pre-commissioning.
  • Category B (Operational): Must be cleared prior to Introduction of Hydrocarbons / Start-up.
  • Category C (Minor): Non-critical items that can be cleared post-start-up.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise daily with Saipem construction supervisors, subcontractors, and Client representatives (TPAO) to prioritize, allocate, and clear outstanding points.
• Database Administration: Utilize and maintain the project's Systems Completion Electronic Database (e.g., ICAPS or Saipem proprietary tools) to log status updates, print reports, and track metrics.
• Verification & Handover: Participate in clearance inspections, verify field rework with Quality Control (QC) inspectors, and process the official clearance certificates to update the Systems Completion Dossiers.
• HSE Compliance: Ensure all field execution activities related to clearing punch items comply with Saipem's strict offshore Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Punch List Coordination, Commissioning Support, or QA/QC Roles within large-scale Offshore Oil & Gas projects (FPSO/FPU experience preferred).
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning, and Handover procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading P&IDs, isometric drawings, electrical schematics, and instrument loop diagrams.
  • Familiarity with tracking software and Systems Completion Databases (SCDB).
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to assertively resolve conflicts between construction and commissioning teams under tight schedule pressure.
• Language: Full professional proficiency in English is mandatory.
