Job summary

ABB in Turkey invites a seasoned Project Manager to lead local project execution, ensure contract fulfillment, and drive continuous improvement across the portfolio in line with ABB standards.

You will supervise teams, manage budgets, and collaborate with sales, operations, and customers to secure on-time delivery and sustained profitability. This is a full-time, on-site role based in İzmit, Turkey, reporting to the Business Manager - E2E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
• PMP Certification with 10-15 years of experience in PM.
• Min. 5 years’ experience in team management.
• Local and Export Project Management experience including Contract Management and Trading Process.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel domestically and abroad.
• Fluent in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Ensures portfolio of projects is managed consistently based on ABB policies and SOX requirements.
• Develops, customizes, and improves standard processes and work instructions.
• Leads budgeting process with Local Division Manager and Controller.
• Participates in sales and operations planning with management team to close gaps.
• Supervises project execution and performance management to ensure contract fulfillment.

This position reports to:

Business Manager - E2E

Accountable for the local management of all project execution activities in the area of responsibility. Ensures operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contract specifications, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. Coordinates and oversees team development and standardized process development to continually improve the effectiveness of Project Execution teams.

Your Role And Responsibilities

• Ensures that the portfolio of projects is managed consistently based on best practices and ABB policies, controls, and SOX requirements
• Develops, customizes, and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting ABB and external best practices
• Ensures that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions
• Participates in the budgeting process jointly with the Local Division Manager and Controller
• Participates in sales and operations planning with other members of the management team and takes actions to close potential gaps in project execution capability and capacity
• Supervises project execution and performance management through project reviews with the management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfillment and approves any project deviations
• Takes an active role in resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer
• Ensures that the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers
• Ensures that projects consistently apply contract and claims management methodologies in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements and in interaction and close collaboration with respective functions
• Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the Project Execution team
• Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies, Leads and coaches the Project Execution teams to achieve defined business objectives
• Drives efficiency and effectiveness and improves cash flow, revenue, and profitability
• Defines project organization in coordination with the PM by assigning project team members to projects based on competencies, customers, and availability, Monitors the project portfolio to ensure early identification of deteriorating execution performance
• Prevents further deterioration by providing timely support to troubled projects, identifying root causes of problems, giving guidance, coaching and where necessary
• Takes accountability for the overall On Time Delivery (OTD) of the projects in the local organization
• Responsible to create and implement a local document control system in line with global/regional requirements

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Preferably in Electrical Engineering field, Experience in MV Switchgear Business (design, PM, Test, Service etc.)
• PMP Certification with and 10-15 years of experience in PM
• Min. 5 years’ experience in team management
• Experience in Local and Export Project Management -including Contract Management and Trading Process
• Having a valid driving license & no obstacle for traveling in the country / abroad
• Fluent in Turkish and English
