Job summary

Skretting is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Turkey to plan and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance across production facilities. You will lead maintenance staff and coordinate with internal teams to ensure asset reliability and safe operations.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage external technicians, and ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations while supporting cost-efficient maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in industrial maintenance or technical project management.
• Experience with industrial automation and maintenance management systems is preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong English communication skills.

Job description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible insuring safe, compliance, efficient and sustainable assets condition to allow production and business supply. In order to fulfil this mission, he’s planning, directing, and realize of all preventative and corrective maintenance and repair, modifications, enhancements to and / or new construction of production facilities, energy facilities and buildings, in order to achieve the required technical and operational readiness and reliability of the facility. Those activities has to be done in an efficient and cost effective manner, enabling the optimal production quality and quantity levels The Maintenance Manager is a member of the technical / production team for a factory, site, jointly responsible for an optimal production process. The key focus of the Maintenance Manager is organizing and supervising all maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance on existing facilities. Activities may include smaller CAPEX projects on existing equipment / production lines. In order to keep the production processes running with a minimum of unplanned interruptions, production equipment, buildings and supporting facilities have to be maintained, and in case of break down, repaired, both by own maintenance staff as well as by contracted resources. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance and repair activities.

Job Description

Maintenance planning

• Prepares the mid and long term maintenance planning for the assigned area, including budgets
• Liaises with functional or operational area managers throughout the organisation to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations.
• Plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) to rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions.

Maintenance management

• Prepares / prioritizes maintenance activities with regard to malfunctions, maintenance, repairs and modifications, in such a way that the work can be performed in an efficient and safe manner and the production department(s) encounter minimal nuisance and / or stagnation.
• Assist in setting, re-setting and adjusting production and packaging equipment of complex product and format transitions, so that production can proceed undisturbed.
• Assesses the nature of the maintenance, and study of the drawings and manuals, ensures the availability of necessary materials, parts and tools and ensures the planning of the execution with relevant departments
• Manages all technical maintenance and repair work to be performed by the employees of the maintenance department, plans the work, providing assignments and tasks, and arranging the activities.
• Instructs on methods and procedures and ensures the necessary safety measures are taken, so that repair and service activities are completed accurately, safely, and on-time.
• Supervises external technicians, providing assignments, checking safeguards and evaluation of the work performed
• Monitors the execution in qualitative and quantitative terms, checking the progress and evaluating the results. Resolves difficulties.

Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoots any mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems and in offices and warehouses, through received messages, such that the work in terms of technology and safety can be resumed and any stagnation is limited to a minimum.
• Locates the cause of the disturbance, determines whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assesses the nature and extent of faults and determines whether immediate repair is necessary and possible. If needed ensures immediate (emergency) repairs are executed

Preventive / planned maintenance

• Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and carries out inspections in the context of preventive and corrective maintenance / overhaul, so that the technical underperforming conditions are timely identified and corrective actions can be taken
• Assesses the state of maintenance and reports of serious findings to the production management; directly repairs (impending) defects if possible
• Ensures the planning and execution of corrective maintenance arising from the inspections, at scheduled times

Continuous improvement

• Researches, evaluates, and recommends new equipment, tools and processes in maintenance and production in order to enhance the capabilities of production and / or maintenance.
• Monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
• Roll out best practices of Maintenance (TPM, AM, PM, …)

Compliance

• Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations.
• Manages spare parts compliance and inventory levels and management and consumptions.
• Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area (incl. some key procedures linked with ATEX, Work at height, LOTO and Confined space, Work Permits etc…)

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Relevant experience in industrial maintenance, engineering or technical project management.
• Experience in industrial automation systems, maintenance processes and maintenance management systems is preferred.
• Experience in planning, implementing and monitoring technical and investment projects.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, maintenance planning and maintenance performance improvement.
• Experience in energy efficiency, cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives is an advantage.
• Experience in managing contractors, external service providers and technical suppliers is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and preventive action planning.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and monitor projects using project management methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with Gantt charts, project tracking tools and digital reporting platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with local and global teams.
• Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally.
