Job summary

Nutreco is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead mid- and long-term maintenance planning across our facilities. You will coordinate with area managers to minimise downtime, plan complex maintenance, and supervise both in-house and external technicians.

The role requires strong analytical skills, PM expertise, and willingness to travel internationally. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, plus experience with automation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in industrial maintenance or technical project management.
Experience in industrial automation systems and maintenance management.
Experience planning and monitoring technical/investment projects.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance and maintenance planning.
Experience in energy efficiency and cost optimization.
Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
Ability to plan and monitor projects using PM methodologies.
Familiarity with Gantt charts and digital reporting.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong written and spoken English.
Ability to collaborate with local and global teams.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Maintain mid/long-term maintenance planning with budget considerations.
Coordinate scheduled activities with operations to minimize disruption.
Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage maintenance programs, shutdowns, and repairs.
Set and adjust production/packaging equipment for efficient transitions.
Ensure availability of materials, parts, and tools; plan execution with departments.
Supervise maintenance staff; assign tasks and ensure safety measures.
Oversee external technicians and evaluate work quality.
Monitor progress and resolve issues to maintain timelines.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems to resume production quickly.
Develop preventive maintenance schedules and inspect assets.
Report serious maintenance findings to production management; perform timely repairs.
Drive continuous improvement through TPM/AM/PM practices.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations; manage spare parts and inventories.
