Job summary

Altan Hidrolik in Istanbul (Tuzla) seeks a Project Leader to own end-to-end system projects within the PTM department, interfacing with customers and internal teams. You will drive design reviews, acceptance tests, and contractual deliverables from RFQ to delivery and after-sales support.

The role requires coordinating with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Logistics and Quality, and managing supplier relationships for complex, multi-phase programs with formal milestones and penalties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in defense or automotive industry environment, including at least 3 years managing technical projects end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience in defense industry programs, within a prime contractor or as a subcontractor.
• Track record of managing multi-phase projects with contractual milestones, acceptance criteria and penalty clauses.
• Confident in leading design reviews, acceptance meetings and contractual discussions with customers.
• Strong command of project management practices; proficiency in MS Project or an equivalent tool.

Responsibilities

• Act as the customer's single point of contact: lead kick-off meetings, design reviews, progress reviews, acceptance tests and delivery milestones.
• Own the contractual scope - specifications, statements of work and acceptance criteria - and manage scope changes, engineering changes and contractual correspondence.
• Build and maintain the project plan (scope, schedule, budget, risks) and track execution against contractual milestones and deliverables.
• Define phase-gate deliverables and ensure design review packages, test reports, qualification and acceptance documentation are produced at the right phase.
• Coordinate the internal project team and cross-functional departments; direct the Project Engineer in day-to-day follow-up.
• Manage the supplier side of the project: subcontracted components, subsystems and test services, from requirement definition to delivery.
• Plan prototype builds, testing and field trials; own the after-sales interface for delivered systems.
• Report project status, KPIs and risks to management and support proposal preparation together with Business Development.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Leader to own the system projects of our Projects, Design & Engineering (PTM) department end-to-end. The portfolio is predominantly defense industry programs for land and naval platforms, alongside selected commercial vehicle and machinery OEM projects. You will be the company's face to the customer in this segment - their single point of contact from RFQ and contract award through design reviews, qualification, acceptance, serial delivery and after-sales. Internally, you will be the bridge between the PTM team, our Purchasing, Planning, Production, Logistics and Quality departments, and our suppliers - turning contractual requirements into an executable plan and keeping every party on schedule. A Project Engineer will support you in day-to-day internal follow-up. These are technically demanding, long-duration projects with contractual milestones, acceptance criteria and penalty clauses. We are looking for someone comfortable carrying that accountability.

What You Will Do

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a defense or automotive industry environment, including at least 3 years managing technical projects end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience in defense industry programs, within a prime contractor or as a subcontractor.
• Track record of managing multi-phase projects with contractual milestones, acceptance criteria and penalty clauses.
• Confident in leading design reviews, acceptance meetings and contractual discussions with customers.
• Strong command of project management practices; proficiency in MS Project or an equivalent tool.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems and mechanical design documentation, sufficient to lead engineering discussions.
• Excellent written and spoken Turkish and English.
• No travel restrictions; eligible for the personnel security clearance required for defense projects; military service completed or deferred (for male candidates).

A plus:

Master's degree or MBA; PMP/IPMA/PRINCE2; AQAP 2110/2310 or AS 9100, MIL-STD qualification and configuration management experience; PLM/PDM and APQP/PPAP experience; experience with hydraulic, pneumatic or thermal systems on land or naval platforms.
