Job summary

SunExpress is seeking a senior procurement leader to drive transactional purchasing, process optimization, and supplier management from its Antalya region base. The role directs the procurement team to robustly manage spend, systems, and SLAs while delivering cost savings and process improvements.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, 5+ years of management, and strong knowledge of ERP procurement tools (SAP MM, SAP Ariba).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or Economics.
• Min 10 years procurement experience across a broad range of roles.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; German a plus; MCIPS or procurement qualification desired.
• Experience leading teams and improving processes; strong ERP/procurement systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct transactional purchasing, including placement and expediting of orders.
• Develop and maintain processes and procedures for the function; ensure team competence with systems.
• Provide procurement systems to enable eRFX, category and supplier management.
• Identify training needs and develop the procurement team's training plan.
• Manage team performance to meet KPIs; develop, roll out and maintain SLAs.
• Maintain function’s annual delivery plan; assist with departmental budget and reporting for the Director.
• Act as escalation point for purchase-to-pay and supplier transactional issues.
• Review and approve high-value orders; advise on optimal transactional processes.
• Measure, monitor and report on savings; drive data-driven improvements.
• Enforce procurement policy and coach team; represent function internally/externally.

Job Description

• Responsible for leading the teams performing transactional purchasing, including the efficient and effective placement and expediting of orders
• Responsible for leading and directing the development and maintenance of processes and procedures for the function, ensuring the team are equipped to work with existing systems competently
• Responsible for leading and directing the provision of procurement systems to enable and support transactional purchasing, eRFX, category and supplier management
• Responsible for identifying training needs within the team and developing and maintaining the Procurement function’s training and development plan
• Responsible for managing the team’s overall performance in order to achieve KPIs; and for leading the development, roll‑out and maintenance of SLAs between Procurement and the wider business
• Responsible for maintaining the function’s annual delivery and business plan; supports preparation of the departmental budget and its allocation across the team; and produces periodic reports for and on behalf of the Director
• Acts as a point of escalation for stakeholders on purchase-to-pay and other transactional queries, and for suppliers on transactional issues including invoice mismatches and payment issues
• Reviews and approves higher value orders; advises team members, colleagues and stakeholders on the most appropriate and effective transactional process
• Responsible for the overall measurement, monitoring and reporting of functional performance and contribution (savings); directs transactional data analysis to improve processes and performance
• Enforces compliance of procurement policy, process and controls; provides coaching to team members undertaking sourcing exercises; and represents the Procurement Director and SunExpress procurement function internally and externally as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or Economics
• A minimum of 10 years procurement experience across a broad and varied range of roles
• Minimum 5 years of management experience
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (German language would be an asset); in possession of a relevant procurement qualification or willingness to work towards one e.g. MCIPS
• Experience in managing and leading teams; completed leadership and management training and may be in possession of a relevant qualification
• Strong technical knowledge of procurement processes, controls, systems and good practice; experience in developing, implementing and continuously improving processes
• Ability to perform, evaluate and draw conclusions from transactional and other data to optimise purchase processes and inform strategy including controls, processes and standards
• Able to develop and implement functional strategy in own area of responsibility and contribute to the broader functional strategy;
• Able to influence internally and negotiate confidently with suppliers to achieve additional value or address performance problems. Able to develop high‑quality internal relationships with senior colleagues.
• Able to effectively manage supplier relationships and foster continuous improvement within the supply base to achieve relevant supply chain objectives such as OTIF performance
• Functional knowledge of ERP/Procurement systems (including SAP MM and SAP Ariba) and their key functions in transactional purchasing including controls
