Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company’s Process Safety Management (PSM) framework across all generation technologies.
- Conduct and facilitate risk assessments related to Major Accident Hazards and critical process safety risks, supporting the effective management of high-consequence scenarios.
- Lead or participate in process safety studies and risk analyses such as HAZOP, What-if Analysis, Bow-Tie Analysis, LOPA, and FMEA/FMECA to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Ensure process safety considerations are effectively integrated into the Management of Change (MOC) process and support safe implementation of technical modifications.
- Coordinate process safety incident investigations, near-miss reporting activities, and root cause analyses to identify lessons learned and drive preventive actions.
- Support the management of Safety Critical Equipment and Barrier Management activities in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE teams.
- Lead internal process safety audits, compliance reviews, and gap assessments while supporting the implementation of improvement actions.
- Develop, monitor, and report Process Safety Performance Indicators in line with industry best practices.
- Design and deliver process safety awareness initiatives, competency development activities, and training programs across the organization.
- Monitor relevant international standards, regulations, and industry practices including CCPS Risk-Based Process Safety, IEC 61511, IEC 61508, and API RP 754.
- Provide process safety expertise during new investments, project development activities, technical modifications, and operational improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in Process Safety, Operations, Engineering, Asset Integrity, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience within the power generation, renewable energy, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or natural gas sectors is preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with process safety methodologies and tools such as HAZOP, LOPA, Bow‑Tie Analysis, FMEA/FMECA, What‑if Analysis, Incident Investigation, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong understanding of Process Safety Management Systems, Major Accident Hazard Management, Barrier Management, Safety Critical Equipment Management, and Process Safety Performance Indicators.
- Knowledge of international process safety standards and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation capabilities.
- Proactive, collaborative, and results‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
