Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Registry on the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as one of: Registered, Certified, or Trainee.
• Strong interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Needs ability to determine dosages using basic pharmaceutical calculations.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate drug, verifying NDC number, and assists with ordering to maintain inventory levels.
• Counts with accuracy and double counts all controlled medications, preparing orders for final checks before dispensing by the pharmacist.
• Selects appropriate packaging, restocks as needed, and applies labels neatly.
• Uses pharmacy computer system to assure accurate patient profiles and billing information is maintained.
• Provides outstanding customer service and maintains confidentiality.
• Refers all drug questions to the pharmacist in charge.
