Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Türk is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard production environments across Istanbul and other sites. You will oversee asset onboarding, vulnerability checks, and incident response in line with IEC 62443 and ISO 27001 standards.

This role requires collaboration with international teams, English proficiency, and willingness to travel. You will guide security updates, conduct risk assessments, and ensure secure integration with enterprise systems in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Requires degree in electrical/electronic, control/automation, mechatronics, or computer engineering.
• Several years of experience with industrial machines, production systems, control systems, and OT security in manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of OT security standards such as IEC 62443 and ISO 27001; risk management.
• Solid understanding of industrial networks, protocols, and production infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security of industrial machines, CNC systems, production networks, and OT assets; maintain security policies and standards.
• Coordinate with Daimler Buses sites to align OT security measures.
• Own OT cybersecurity aspects of onboarding new assets including IT configurations and vulnerability checks.
• Conduct OT risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement risk-reducing measures; organize workshops with external consultants.
• Plan and deploy software updates, patches, backups, and endpoint protection; maintain network segmentation and secure remote access.
• Monitor OT networks and assets; respond to incidents and coordinate with IT/production teams, CSOC, and BISO Plant.
• Ensure secure data flow between machines, MES, IoT platforms, and enterprise systems; define security requirements for new machines and automation projects.
• Raise awareness on OT security and conduct audits, cyber drills, and preparedness exercises.

Why you matter in this role

As part of our OT Planning team, you take an active role in ensuring the cybersecurity and reliable operation of our production environment.

Working closely with technical planning, maintenance, and IT teams, you ensure that industrial systems, machines, and networks operate in line with defined cybersecurity standards. You coordinate and perform key activities such as asset onboarding, vulnerability management, and incident response, while also supporting the implementation of standards and structured processes across the OT landscape.

With your experience, you provide technical guidance, support risk-based decision-making, and ensure that cybersecurity considerations are consistently integrated into production and digitalization initiatives.

What you can expect

• Manage and Maintain OT Cybersecurity Posture: Oversee security of industrial machines, CNC systems, production networks, and OT assets, ensuring safe and continuous operation while maintaining security policies and standards.
• Cross-Site Coordination & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication and coordination with other Daimler Buses sites and OT cybersecurity coordinators to align security standards, share best practices, and ensure consistent implementation of OT cybersecurity measures across locations.
• Asset Lifecycle & Commissioning: Own the OT cybersecurity aspects of commissioning and onboarding new assets, including IT configurations, firewall authorizations, vulnerability checks, and maintaining/updating OT inventories.
• Risk Assessment & Vulnerability Management: Conduct OT risk assessments, identify and remediate vulnerabilities, implement risk-reducing measures, monitor compliance, and organize workshops with external consultants.
• Secure Software Deployment & System Updates: Plan, test, and roll out software updates, patches, backups, and endpoint protection, maintaining network segmentation and secure remote access.
• Monitoring & Incident Response: Continuously monitor OT networks & assets, respond to incidents, coordinate with IT/production teams, CSOC, and BISO Plant, acting as technical authority for escalations.
• Secure Integration with Enterprise Systems: Ensure safe data flow between machines, MES, IoT platforms, and enterprise systems; define security requirements and support secure deployment of new machines and automation projects.
• Training, Awareness & Audits: Raise employee awareness on OT security, advise production/engineering teams, and conduct internal/external audits, cyber drills, and preparedness exercises.

Required

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering
• Several years of experience working with industrial machines, production systems, control systems, and related networks, combined with hands‑on experience in OT security, industrial cybersecurity, and digitalization initiatives in manufacturing environments
• In-depth knowledge of OT security standards such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001 and risk management
• Solid understanding of industrial network and system technologies, including communication protocols and infrastructure used in production environments
• Experience collaborating with international or cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in English and experience collaborating with international and cross-functional teams
• Ability to travel as required, and for male candidates, completion of mandatory military service.

• Certifications such as COSTE (e.g. TÜV), IEC 62443, ISO 27001, FICSP. CISSP or comparable OT security evidence
