Job summary

sennder, Europe's Leading Digital Freight Forwarder, seeks an Operations Manager for our Istanbul office. This 100% onsite role focuses on running daily road freight operations for our key customer, sourcing capacity, and building a strong carrier network across Europe.

You will negotiate rates, manage relationships with carriers, and coordinate with the international network team to keep cross-border logistics moving efficiently. Turkish and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a road freight role and experience as a freight forwarder.
• Excellent Turkish and good English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Entrepreneurial character and international mindset.
• Strong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others.
• Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.
• Proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Run daily road freight operations: manage truck movements from booking to delivery for our largest key customer.
• Source and buy capacity: call carriers daily, negotiate rates, and secure the right trucks at the right price.
• Build your carrier network: strengthen relationships with existing carriers and bring in new ones.
• Stay on top of the market: track weekly price developments so you always know where the market stands.
• Win spot business: quote customer spot requests quickly and competitively, and turn them into new opportunities.
• Be the carriers' main contact: support them on operations, invoicing and payments, and purchasing.
• Meet carriers in person: organize and join carrier visits to build trust and long-term partnerships.
• Work closely with our international network team: respond to their needs and keep things moving across borders.

We are a growing team looking for an Operations Manager to join our Istanbul office and be part of an international team keen to provide the highest level of service to our largest key customer. The role is based in Istanbul and is 100% onsite.
