Job summary

UN Women Türkiye Office seeks a national consultant to support CSO members and women’s rights advocates. The role focuses on strengthening advocacy, dialogue, and knowledge-generation to counter gender backlash and promote evidence‑based gender equality.

The consultant will engage with regional and international mechanisms, prepare trainings, and help CSOs access global platforms, often working from a home-based setting with no travel foreseen.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive work experience in gender equality and/or women’s empowerment.
• Experience with international women’s movement and mechanisms on gender equality.
• Experience with women’s civil society organizations is desirable.
• Fluency in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to connect Türkiye’s women’s movement with the global women’s movement through learning exchanges and new networks.
• Provide technical support to identify CSO members/affiliates for international events and mechanisms.
• Identify international opportunities and platforms for CSOs to exchange ideas and build coalitions.
• Guide CSOs on advocacy tools and preparations for participation in regional, EU and international events (CSW, GEG, etc.).
• Prepare training materials (infographics, guides, visuals) to help CSOs obtain ECOSOC consultative status.
• Support design, content development, moderation and documentation of conferences and dialogues under the project, including post‑event summaries.
