The Push Forward Strategy aims to strengthen institutional coherence and advance evidence-based programming. This role supports the strategy’s implementation, funded by the Government of Denmark, focusing on gender-responsive governance and women's leadership.
Job purpose: This role serves as the Regional Office focal point for the ECARO Push Forward Strategy, coordinating its implementation and providing technical guidance across the region. It involves analyzing trends related to gender equality backlash, identifying strategic opportunities, and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities. The position supports the development of partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, contributes to knowledge management by synthesizing analytical evidence and disseminating best practices, and prepares knowledge products. The role also monitors progress, prepares reports, and may supervise interns or consultants.
Responsibilities: Serve as the Regional Office focal point for the ECARO Push Forward Strategy, coordinating its implementation and providing technical and substantive guidance across Regional and Country Offices to ensure coherence and strategic alignment. Analyze emerging trends, implementation needs, and programme priorities related to backlash against gender equality, identifying strategic opportunities and approaches. Maintain the Push Forward Task Force and facilitate coordination with Headquarters, UNCTs, GTGs, Country Offices, and regional teams. Identify implementation priorities, provide technical support for integrating the strategy into workplans, and monitor progress. Prepare substantive inputs for donor and UN Women reports. Provide inputs for partnership and resource mobilization strategies, including concept notes and proposals. Prepare project summaries, briefing notes, and other documentation. Support knowledge management by preparing analytical evidence, policy briefs, and presentations. Maintain a regional repository of knowledge resources and disseminate relevant analyses. Organize webinars, trainings, and learning events to promote exchange of experiences and good practices. Synthesize lessons learned and contribute to knowledge management methodologies.
Education: A Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, or social sciences is required. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is an added advantage.
Work experience: Requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in managing complex programme interventions, preferably related to gender equality, women's rights, gender backlash, anti-rights mobilization, civic space dynamics, and democratic resilience. Experience in coordinating with government agencies and donors, programme implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is desirable. Proficiency in computer and office software packages, including web-based management systems, is required. Experience with Oracle Cloud is desirable.
