About the Opportunity

A global biopharmaceutical sponsor is seeking an experienced Medical Director / Clinical Development Physician specialising in Haematology to join its growing international clinical development organisation in Turkey.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a physician with a strong background in haematology and clinical drug development to contribute to the global development of innovative therapies across the company's pipeline.

The successful candidate will work as a key medical representative within Global Clinical Development, providing scientific and clinical leadership across international programmes while collaborating with colleagues across Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs and Translational Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical and clinical leadership across global haematology clinical development programmes from early development through to late-stage studies.
• Contribute to the development and execution of global clinical development strategies and plans.
• Provide medical input into clinical protocols, study designs, endpoints, eligibility criteria and statistical analysis plans.
• Support the assessment of clinical data, including safety, efficacy, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and benefit-risk.
• Review and provide medical oversight of clinical trial data and contribute to data interpretation and clinical study reports.
• Work closely with Clinical Operations to ensure appropriate execution of international clinical trials.
• Provide medical guidance to investigators, key opinion leaders and external clinical experts.
• Contribute to regulatory interactions and preparation of clinical documentation for global health authorities.
• Support the preparation and review of IND/CTA, IB, clinical study reports and regulatory submission materials.
• Collaborate with Pharmacovigilance on safety surveillance, signal evaluation and benefit-risk assessments.
• Represent Clinical Development in cross-functional and global project teams.
• Support interactions with internal and external stakeholders across Europe, Turkey and other international markets.
• Contribute to scientific publications, congress activities and presentation of clinical development data where appropriate.
• Provide mentorship and clinical expertise to colleagues across the wider development organisation.

Therapeutic Expertise

The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in haematology, with experience in one or more relevant disease areas such as:

• Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML)
• Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML)
• Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)
• Multiple Myeloma
• Lymphoma
• Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS)
• Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs)
• Other malignant or non-malignant haematological disorders

Experience with innovative therapies, targeted therapies, biologics, cell therapy or other novel modalities would be highly advantageous.

Candidate Profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialist training in Haematology.
• Strong clinical background in haematology, ideally with experience treating or managing patients within relevant clinical programmes.
• Previous experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or CRO clinical development.
• Demonstrable experience contributing to clinical trials and drug development programmes.
• Strong understanding of clinical development methodology, GCP and global regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing or reviewing clinical protocols and interpreting clinical trial data.
• Ability to operate effectively within global, cross-functional teams.
• Strong scientific and medical communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with investigators, KOLs and senior internal stakeholders.
• Fluent Turkish and English communication skills.
• Willingness to work within an international environment and collaborate across multiple time zones.

The following would be particularly valuable:

• Experience working on global Phase I–III clinical development programmes.
• Previous Medical Director, Clinical Development Physician, Clinical Scientist or equivalent experience.
• Experience working directly with FDA, EMA or other major global regulatory authorities.
• Experience with global clinical development strategy.
• Experience within oncology/haematology drug development.
• Strong investigator and KOL networks.
• Experience taking programmes from first-in-human through to registration.
• Experience working within a rapidly growing biotech or innovative pharmaceutical environment.
