Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a General Superintendent for Mission Critical Data Centers to lead field operations on complex data center projects. You will drive schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction while mentoring field teams and coordinating with design partners.

The role requires 15+ years of general contracting experience focused on mission critical projects, a relevant degree, and licenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of general contracting experience with mission critical/data center focus.
• Applicable area licenses are required.
• Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities between business needs.
• Strong business judgment to balance budget and construction processes.
• Excellent organizational, diplomatic and communication skills; core values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism and Caring.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations and execution for assigned project(s).
• Develop client relationships and ensure client satisfaction with project outcomes.
• Recruit, mentor, and train field staff (Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, interns).
• Provide guidance on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and construction methods.
• Participate in business development and pre-construction activities.
• Review project plans for constructability and develop execution plans.
• Prepare baseline schedules and verify delivery against project requirements.
• Oversee site logistics, safety, and standards compliance.
• Manage field staff performance, schedule updates, and budget inputs.
