Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain internal platforms enabling self-service deployment and app management for development teams.

You will drive standardized tools and frameworks, guide GenAI and AI agent adoption, and integrate diverse tools to support many teams across cloud environments. Strong collaboration and documentation support are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in platform engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps processes.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
• Familiarity with Flux or ArgoCD for GitOps.
• Experience with Backstage, Humanitec or OpsLevel to boost productivity.
• Understanding of high-availability multi-data center systems.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Shell or Python; strong debugging.
• Excellent English communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain internal platforms enabling self-service deployment.
• Develop and update standardized tools, libraries, and frameworks.
• Guide adoption of GenAI, AI agents, and AIOps on the platform.
• Integrate diverse dev tools and services in the platform ecosystem.
• Improve developer experience via documentation, training, and support.
• Ensure platforms deliver high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Apply DORA metrics to measure and improve processes.
• Collaborate with security, operations, and development teams.
