Job summary

Yazaki Europe Middle East and Africa is seeking a Launch Engineer for its Başiskele, Kocaeli location. You will act as the key on-site interface to customers, ensuring a smooth launch of new products into production and resolving build issues across engineering and logistics teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining the harness by vehicle build matrix, planning build-phase support, and coordinating with customer manufacturing teams to meet delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical-Electronics Engineering.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems and schematics.
• Good driving skills.

To strengthen our team we are looking Launch Engineer for our location in Başiskele, Kocaeli

What will your job be about?

• Key interface to customer to provide on-site support during prototype and launch phases of the project
• Ensure smooth launch of new products into production, identify, track and resolve build issues
• Analyse vehicle specification and generate and maintain the “harness by vehicle build matrix”. Input into Customer BOM Validation tool if required
• Distribute “harness by vehicle build matrix” to engineering and logistics team
• Plan engineering, quality, rework support for build phase, issue and maintain build support plan
• Ensure adequate material is available at build site for reworks
• Attend customer launch kick off meetings and cascade information to team
• Attend product design reviews in harness manufacturing plan
• Represent Yazaki in the front line of the customer at launch site
• Manage all aspects of launch for Yazaki at launch site
• Ensure excellent support is provided to customer during launch phase
• Support “bread board” process where required and diagnostics of electrical function issues.
• Support vehicle builds and advise on EDS package design and systems function issues
• Support prototype and pre-production vehicle diagnostics and then sign off at launch site
• Interface with Logistics team to ensure delivery of parts meets customer requirements
• Liaise with customer manufacturing team for resolution of vehicle manufacturing issues
• Provide initial containment action for job stopper issues where possible/required
• Attend “white board” issues meetings, cascade output for actions and follow up – communicate issues back to design team
• Support AIMS process at customer and communicate with design team for timely resolution
• Feedback to customer with design issue resolution (PR numbers, concern numbers, rework numbers, launch management (AIMS) decks).
• Interface to quality team and EDS manufacturing plants for resolution of quality issues
• Investigate and create EDS design proposals for resolution of vehicle level build issues
